Untie yourself

‭Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭30,31‬ – “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’”

This passage of scripture is a familiar one. Jesus is on His way to Jerusalem when He asks His disciples to bring Him a colt. And this was not to be a random colt either. Jesus gave the disciples specific instructions to bring him a colt that no one had ever ridden. He also gave them directions on where they would find this cold, what they should do with it, and what they should say if someone questions them.

Weird as Jesus’ request may have seemed, the disciples obeyed and found things exactly the way Jesus said it would be. When we choose to obey God’s Word, we’ll discover that our life unfolds exactly the way He said it would.

Jesus wanted to ride that particular colt into Jerusalem that day. That colt had been placed in that place on that particular day for a purpose. Each of us also have been placed in a particular geographical location, with specific friends, neighbors and co-workers, for a definite purpose. Are we ready to be used by God to fulfill that purpose, or have we tied ourselves down with numerous things of the world? Untie yourself – stay clear of things that hold you back from serving God faithfully. The Lord has need of you!
