Unwavering Hope

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

As you read today’s verse, take time to recall: Have you ever doubted your salvation? What happens when sin returns like a pattern, and the accusations ring in your head? “Nothing has changed, you are still the same.” How does it change the way you approach God’s throne room? Do you enter with boldness, kneeling in praise and thanksgiving? Or do you beg, unsure of His will?

In the olden days, the priest stood year after year in the Holy of Holies, offering sacrifices repeatedly. The priest had to remain standing because the work was never finished. However, Jesus, our High Priest, is seated at the right hand of God, having offered Himself as the final sin offering for all. That seals our salvation forever.

We may repeat the same mistakes again and again, and the accuser exploits that. Truth is, God is not keeping a file of your sins on His hard drive. Instead, He has written your name in the Book of Life, as His adopted son or daughter!

So the next time you are on your knees seeking God, don’t beg. Behave like His child. Lift your hands and praise your Father. Thank Him for blotting out your sins. Don’t for a moment believe that God wants you to suffer. Yes, you may face pain, rejection, and heartbreak. But take all your suffering and lay it at God’s feet, and He’ll turn it for your good.

This Lent, silence the accuser’s voice with shouts of praise to God. Let us be grateful for the Lamb who paid it all. Let joy overflow in your heart, for your heavenly inheritance awaits. Cling to His Word with unwavering hope.
