Wait in Hope

Micah 7:7 NIV

“As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.”

When all around you, all you see is hopelessness and despair, child of God, take heart! Though you may not see the work of your Savior yet, you can confidently wait. And not just wait with nothing to hold on to, but with the hope that God, your Heavenly Father, will hear you.

Waiting in hope for the Lord is a time of preparation for what He is going to do for you, a time of expectancy, and a time to stand steadfast on His never-failing promises. He is your Redeemer, your Rescuer, your Savior, your Father. Isaiah 40:31 (AMP) says, “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.”

The psalmist says, “I wait for the LORD; my soul does wait, and in His word I put my hope” (Psalm 130:5). Let God’s Word feed your hope, and let your hope be built on faith in the God of our salvation! Wait patiently and expectantly for God, for whom nothing is too hard (Jeremiah 32:27). He will hear you. As David says in Psalm 40:1, “I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry.” Still not feeling heard? Let’s read the Message version of the scripture, “I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened.”
