Walking according to the Spirit

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.Roman 8:1

In Romans 7 Paul ended crying out in frustration about his wretchedness and asking who would deliver him from his “body of death”. He answered by giving thanks “to God through Jesus Christ our Lord”. Like Paul, we should be confident that our savior is able to forgive our sins and restore us. In Christ, when we confess our sins and seek God’s forgiveness, He is faithful to forgive us and sanctify us from all unrighteousness.

God’s forgiveness leaves no room to guilt. In the world when we are wrong, it is like never healing scar, it leaves a mark even when the wound is dried. But as Romans 8:1 reminds us in Christ there is no condemnation for we will make a progressive habit of walking in the Spirit. His Holy Spirit in us teaches us God’s way and helps us to stop walking according to the flesh.

Walking in the Spirit makes us aware of God’s will and the desire to conform to it. It develops in us repentful heart which constantly yearns to please God and hence stays away from the trap of sin and condemnation. Therefore, this should encourage us to be quick to admit our shortcomings, embrace His forgiveness, and be led by His Spirit to lead a condemnation-free life.

Blessed Day Ahead.
