Proverbs 2:7 – He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
Walking in integrity comes with wisdom. However, at times we measure integrity with materialism. Having a materialistic attitude and alleviating our lifestyle and choices of clothes or cars or even mobiles make us so distant from the fact that living in an upright manner is none of these. Lately, while walking past an old man drowned in his sleep, homeless and lonely was sitting by the roadside. How can one assess his righteousness? He has nothing externally to show the life he led. How does one show a life of integrity?
Jesus shows the integrity that comes with one’s lifestyle. A lifestyle that is not hoarding up riches and materialistic security but one who is walking in the spirit of his freedom. When we turn to living a secure life and yet our spirits are led by the Lord everything around seems meaningless. It like chasing after the wind.
But following Lord Jesus irrespective of all is chasing after life. A life that would be rendered free of all knowing and all comprehension.
