Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The Holy Spirit fills us with power. He is one among the Trinity and it is He who empowers us and gets us ready for the work of God. The disciples of Jesus went in great power to share the gospel after they were filled with the Holy Ghost. Timid fishermen and catchers of fish later became gospel preachers and catchers of men after the Holy Spirit engulfed their lives. Their lives were never the same again.
All kinds of sickness were leaving the bodies of the afflicted people. Demon possessed became free and magicians started burning their books. People started accepting Jesus in great numbers and signs and miracles followed the preaching and teaching of the gospel by the disciples. The Holy Spirit was strengthening and empowering them. Sharing the gospel is of utmost importance because t hat is what Jesus wants from us. He has given us His Holy Spirit to strengthen us for this work.
Now, the gospel is being preached in so many parts of the world. Jesus is going to come soon. Let us be prepared to meet him. Ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit and to empower and strengthen you for the work of the gospel. Every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Amen!
