You are Chosen

Psalm 65:4 – “Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.”

David was one of the many Old Testament stalwarts who enjoyed a close relationship with God. While he did falter and fail several times in his life, he always repented with all his heart, and restored God to His rightful place – the throne of His heart. While David was a powerful king, he did not take his position for granted. He understood that it was God who chose him and brought him into His presence.

Much like the shepherd king, we too were nobodies before we met Christ. God gave us the opportunity to know Him personally, provided grace to sustain an intimate relationship with Him and gifted us a new identity as His beloved children. It is now our time to remain thankful and be content with the new life we’ve found in Christ. Let’s not take the goodness of the Lord for granted, for without Him we are nothing.

Prayer: Father, thank You for choosing me to be your child. I’m sorry for all the times I’ve whined and complained when things didn’t go my way. I trust that You have my best interests in mind. Lord, You are good and You do good. Please work in me and through me, so I may be a blessing in Your kingdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
