Maryanne J. George is a multi-faceted artist; singer, and songwriter, and she plays many different instruments. She is also a worship leader who is passionate about encountering the Lord.

Much of what she knows about music comes from her family. Her earliest memories are filled with songs; almost every family get-together had a time of singing and playing instruments. She learned how to play violin at the age of 4. She taught herself piano and guitar. She eventually went on to serve at her home church where she started as a choir member, and eventually became a worship director.

Over the years, she has sung songs on Youtube, and other social media platforms… She has also led worship at several events. But you might know her more from Maverick City Music – a collective of worshipers committed to deconstructing unspoken rules that exist in the CCM and Gospel world. She has written songs together with them, recorded a few albums, did a little touring, and won some awards. In October 2021, she recorded and released her debut EP, Not Just Stories. It was a grounding album, centered on the tenets of worship: surrender, devotion and sacrifice. It was a culmination of her spiritual journey with Jesus. It charted nationally. These were dreams she didn’t know were possible for a brown girl like her. But God made them happen.
