Exodus 33:9 – “When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the LORD would speak with Moses.”
We read in the Old Testament that when the Israelites were making their way towards Canaan, God was with them as a pillar of cloud during the day. Whenever Moses entered the tent to talk to God, His presence would descend, and God would speak personally to Moses.
Exodus 33:11 – “Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend…”
God longs to speak to us face to face even today. But we need to be willing to enter the tent. It could be a quiet place in your room, the top bunk of your dorm bed, a designated prayer room, during your morning walk… any place where you can speak to God, unhindered. When you take that step and enter into an atmosphere of prayer, God will descend and meet you there.
He longs to talk to you just as you chat with your friends. The more time you spend with Him, the more you will get to know Him in a very personal way. Make that a non-negotiable part of your day.
