Psalm 92:1: It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.
Giving thanks to the Lord is a good thing. He deserves our praise and He is worthy of it. Giving thanks to God amidst any and all circumstances is a mandate in the Bible. When praises go up, blessings come down.
It is not always easy to give praises to God. Sometimes, we get bogged down with pressures of life, challenges, defeats, unfaithfulness, etc. The way things appear around us sometimes will make us think that it is no more good enough to sing God’s praises or thank Him wholeheartedly. God understands us. He knows our frailty and our weakness. We are forced to think that God is not hearing us anymore. We are puzzled with so many questions and so many overwhelming situations. Yet in all these, the Bible tells us that we should give praises to God and that He deserves it more than anyone else. There are instances in the Bible when people worshipped God and praised Him, He gave them victory against their enemies, set the prisoners free, blessed them in double portion in the latter part of life, raised up a man from prison to palace, etc. There is power in praise. There is deliverance when we give God the glory that is due Him.
Bless the Lord at all times. No blessing will be withhold from them that love Him.
