2 Corinthians 4:15 – “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.”
None of us really want to suffer, do we? And yet we sometimes find ourselves in deep waters – either self-inflicted or for no fault of ours. Everybody on this earth goes through trouble at some time or the other, whether they believe in Jesus or not. But as children of God, we have a greater hope – we believe God will never leave us nor forsake us, even in the midst of our suffering. We know God will deliver us and work it all out for our good and His glory.
The early disciples were no strangers to suffering – they were bruised, tortured, jailed and persecuted for their faith. Yet, they did not give up. The ripples of their suffering allowed God’s grace to reach more people. Many heard about the disciples’ faith and put their trust in God. Even in prison, Paul was able to minister to others and touch many with the love of God.
It’s never easy to go through suffering, but you are never alone. Know that God is with you; He is for you and He is on your side. If you’ve prayed but God hasn’t taken away your troubles, it means He is working something greater in you through these trials (2 Corinthians 4:16-17). You will pass through the storm and come out blessed, giving God all the glory.
Amen.praise the Lord…our God is big and mighty. He is our refuge and strength always in times of trouble…
