Matthew 11:28-29: Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, and I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Anyone who has a tiring day at work would want to come home and just relax. Jesus calls unto Himself everyone who is tired and weary or those who labor and are heavy laden. The only place of rest and assurance is Jesus. While there are some people who restrict rules and dogmas on others as a way to go to heaven, there is Jesus on the other side calling people to Him just as they are.
Jesus wants to deliver and set free everyone who is burdened with sin, shame, guilt, defeat, etc. He wants them to learn from Him and to take His yoke upon themselves because that is light. Jesus is gentle. He does not yell or scream at anyone who wants to go to Him. He welcomes everyone with a big hug and lets them know that He knows what they are going through. This love of Jesus attracts people to Him and they feel the warmth in His embrace and will be able to experience His love. He never burdens any sinner who is already burdened with sin and shame. He takes their yoke upon Himself and gives them His mercy and forgiveness. He gives them the assurance that they are loved. Ultimately, they find rest for their souls.
Come to Jesus all those who are tired and weary. Jesus is the place of refuge. Let Him fill your hearts and minds with peace. Accept His invitation for your life today and live a life of freedom and deliverance.
