Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name Yah, And rejoice before Him.
Psalms 68:4
We all praise the Lord in good times, but do we praise God during our bad times, are we giving Him the praise He deserves? Praise is a fundamental part of the Christian faith, and our praise grows through encountering God and meditating on His Word.
A lot of us today, are fixated on results that we see through our eyes, we try to fit logic and rationality to everything that we await. To give thanks to Him who is the creator of all things visible and invisible to man, we must realize that God is in control of all circumstances that surround our lives, both good and bad. In 2 Corinthians 4:17–18 we are told, “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
Let us not miss out on Jesus and keep His glory in darkness, because we were looking for our temporal needs to be met, while He came to meet our eternal needs. When we concern ourselves with the eternal, we will have the temporal too. Let us give praise to Yah for He is worthy! Let us sing songs to Him who is Holy and rejoice in His righteousness.
