Proverbs 18:10: The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. (KJV)
A tower is a tall structure that either stands alone or forms part of another building. God has many names and referring to God as a strong tower means He is a go-to place in times of trouble. There is safety and protection with God. No enemy can ever harm us or come near us when we trust in God and make Him our refuge.
Knowing God by different names helps us focus on the character and nature of Him. His name becomes more and more meaningful to us as we steadily develop a deep relationship with Him. God helps us in our moments of crisis based on His different names. To a sick person, He is known as Jehovah Rapha, to those who have lack in their life, He is Jehovah Rohi meaning the Lord is my Shepherd. To those who doubt His presence, He is Immanuel, i.e., God with us. When the name of God is referred to as a strong tower, it means we are safe from all harm and danger that the enemy intends to put us in. No evil plan of the devil will work against those whose refuge is God Himself. Only those who have a right standing with God will be safe with Him.
Make God a strong tower in your life, the one place you could go to in times of attack from the enemy. God is a place of refuge. He will never let anyone down who is clinging on to Him and trusts Him.
