Nahum 1:3
The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of His feet.
Often Shiny would lose her temper. Her mother always advised her to pray about these fits of rage that she battled with. In anger, she would say and do things and later regret. In the process there was also a whole lot of pain and hurt that she would cause to herself and others.
The Lord Most High is unlike man. He is slow to anger and has a LOT of patience. He warns and waits for repentance. He is not waiting to condemn or inflict judgement. He is rather waiting to show mercy and forgiveness. It is only when the sin has increased to such an extent where there is a foul stench, does He issue his prophetic warnings of the destruction that this sin calls upon itself.
In the Garden of Eden, though the Lord had already warned Adam that death awaits them on eating the fruit, yet, He walked through the Garden in the cool of the day waiting to meet with Adam and Eve, even after knowing they had disobeyed. Was judgement and condemnation even a part of the subject of their conversation? It was the repercussions of their deeds that caused the curse to come upon Adam and Eve. And in all of His goodness, mercy and grace, the Lord made tunics of skin for them and clothed them.
THIS is the God we serve. Are we frustrating His patience with our stubbornness or ignorant attitudes? Let us pray that we would trust His disciplining, obey His commandments and be mindful of our conduct. May our thoughts, words and actions glorify Him and bring joy to His heart.
