These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. John:15:11
What was it that gave joy to our LORD JESUS, during His ministry on this earth? Was it the fact that 12 men have surrendered themselves to the works of GOD? Or was it that many are healed and delivered in HIS name? No, the source of Joy of our LORD JESUS was the fact that HE is so deeply connected with the FATHER, John 14:11: Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me.
The Joy of the LORD is to be deeply rooted in GOD. This path is not a bed of roses, many sufferings and trials will meet us, but it is this JOY of the LORD that will give us the strength to endure it. Just like how our LORD JESUS in the garden of Gethsemane, said in Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” this is a classic example of Joy. he found joy in fulfilling the purpose of GOD, even when the path to it was so painful and full of suffering.
Similarly, when we follow Jesus, not everything and everyone will be good to us. There will be trials, there will be hurts, but let’s remember that if there are trials in life, we are on the right path, because we are walking in the army of JESUS and the enemy will try to attack, but the Victory belongs to JESUS.
