Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
One of the most powerful senses we have is the sense of smell. Take for instance the smell of a baby which is so distinct. You’ve probably already thought of some baby while reading this. That’s because scent can trigger memories that we treasure for long. We’ve come a long way where aromatic oils are now used to improve physical and mental health.
As Christians, we carry the fragrance of the knowledge of the Lord and should be like diffusers, spreading His sweet aroma wherever we go and in all that we do. We need to be gentle, loving, caring, forgiving, compassionate, understanding ‘diffusers.’ What do we smell like? What kind of fragrance of Christ are you carrying?
What is the knowledge of Christ to you? Is it not His passionate love, beautiful presence, unending grace, healing forgiveness, peace that passes understanding, warm comfort and so much more! You are called to spread this profound, yet simple knowledge through your life. The more Christ increases in our lives, the more Christ-like we begin to behave. When we live in obedience to His Word, being committed disciples and eager to do His will, the precious Holy Spirit will have more freedom to manifest through us. In all that we go through, whether suffering or rejoicing, may we give out the sweet aroma of our Saviour who modelled this for us at the Cross of Calvary. May the sweetest memories people have of us be the ones in which we have let the glory of Christ Jesus shine through!
