1 Peter 1:19– “but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” (1 Peter 1:18-19).
Christ was the Son of God, the Perfect Lamb, born without sin, pure and holy, without fault, the perfect sacrifice. The only One Who could take away the sins of the world, from past to future sins, of all generations, the only ruler on earth, above the earth and below the earth.
His precious blood was the cost for our salvation. During Passover, the sacrificial lamb could not have any defect, because otherwise it would not be accepted as an atonement for the people’s sins. (Leviticus 22:20).
Christ was the only perfect man because He was God incarnate, no one else would have sufficed – and His blood was precious and priceless. Through His blood, we are made perfect forever. (Hebrews 10:14). Through His blood we will be able to stand in front of the Throne of Grace, and receive grace, because Christ has already paid a very high price for us.
“Therefore since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him!” (Romans 5:9).
Jesus, thank you for the price you paid for me on the cross. Thank you for dying on my behalf. Thank you for loving me with an everlasting love. Thank you for loving me this much. In Your precious and matchless name I pray. Amen.
