Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
When God made a covenant with Abraham in the Old Testament, it was intended for the descendants of Abraham as well – the Israelites. But those of us who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and are adopted into His family are also partakers of the Abrahamic blessing. We see in Galatians 3:14 that God redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to us through Christ Jesus.
So, not only do we get the blessing portrayed in today’s verse, we get so much more. The blessings we’ve received from God so far are sure to fill our hearts with thanksgiving. The blessings God has planned for our future are beyond our imagination. But we’ve also been blessed to be a blessing to others God has placed in our lives – in our circles of influence.
The greatest blessing we have is the living presence of God in our lives through the person of the Holy Spirit. God has given us His Spirit to mentor and guide us every moment of our lives. People around us may not understand what we’re going through, but the Holy Spirit does. When we interact with Him on a daily basis, we will experience a richness in our spiritual lives that cannot compare to the riches of this world.
