Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! Psalm 107:21
Can we ever stop thanking God? He is such a good God who gives us everything that we need. He gave us his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life! God gave us His Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, guide, advocate and strengthen us in our weakness. Moreover, He gives us everything that we need in its due season.
Psalm 107 exhorts us to praise God for his goodness. The psalm mentions a variety of reasons to praise God.
- God leads His people.
- He delivers people from their distress
- He satisfies the longing soul.
- He fills the hungry soul with goodness
- God brings people out of darkness and breaks their chains.
- He heals the people and rescues them.
Today, let us claim all these promises in our lives. What He has done for others, He will do it for us too. He works wonders. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Whether we see blessings abounding in our lives or we are struggling to find anything to be thankful for, let us turn to God. He is the one who blesses us with all good things from heaven above. He longs for us to praise Him in the midst of our suffering, trust in His perfect will for our lives. He deserves our praises. Let us remember to give praise to the Lord for his mercy, and for the wonders which he does for us everyday!
