“But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.” Mathew 6: 3-4
The above verse is a reminder to all of us, to not seek approval from mortal men, but to always seek GOD’s approval and consent. When we do an act of charity, we wish that people recognize our contribution to society, but seldom do people recognize it or support it. in fact mostly what people receive for their good deeds is criticism and cynicism, but GOD is telling us, to not define our good deeds based on people’s appreciation, rather seek GOD and HIS consent in every work we do and we will see HIS reward in open.
Our lives are to be led for the glory of GOD, and not for our own self-loathing, The above verse, is a beautiful lesson on learning humility. It is not just concerning a charity work of an NGO, but any work, done with a service attitude, it can be simple cooking you do for your loved ones or a massive organ donation, do it all with humility and thanksgiving to GOD, that you are able to give and everything you possess actually belongs to GOD himself.
Let us boast in JESUS and nothing else, HE is everything for us, and in HIM is everything made perfect.
