Numbers 6:26 – “The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
“To lift up the eye or the face upon anyone is to look upon that one with peculiar and tender interest.” (Pulpit Commentary). This statement is very true, we also look at people we care more for, we demonstrate interest and give them all our attention when we look at them, not just with our eyes, but when we turn our attention entirely to them. This makes them feel special, and it shows that we really care.
Isn’t it wonderful to know that our God looks at us and that He wants to bless us? He is a tender, loving, caring Father to us. He looks at us with eyes full of mercy and love. His blessings protect us and keep us safe.
When God looks at us we feel His presence, we feel His love. We know that the many testimonies and miracles we have experienced or heard through our lives are proof of the Lord’s mercy and grace towards us.
When God looks at us we know that He will guard us and lead us in His mighty and perfect way, and changes that seemed impossible happen, because God cares and He is interested in us.
Furthermore, when God looks at us He gives us His peace, the peace that only He can give which transcends all human understanding: His perfect peace.
So, may “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26) Amen!
