Psalms 145:20
“The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.“
Loving the Lord is the first commandment that was re-iterated by Jesus when asked by a religious leader(Matthew 22:37). However, we have to remember that He first loved us(1 John 4:19). That is why we enjoy redemption, which Christ bought for us.
Today’s scripture and Psalm 97:10 says – “Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.” Our God preserves the ones who love Him against all evil. He promises special protection for those who have confidence and complacency in Him. Loving Him makes us walk in His ways. Thereby we walk in integrity which effectually secures us, and no evil befalls us.
The destiny of the wicked is as in Matthew 25:41 – “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’ “
The Lord is our shield and our sustainer. There is no need to fear what comes our way because His promise stands. All we have to do is love Him always. He will surely turn all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose(Romans 8:28).
