Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. Proverbs 3:25-26
Life is full of uncertainties. We often find ourselves facing unexpected challenges, sudden changes, sudden losses, or even threats that can instill fear within us. Yet, amid these uncertainties, Proverbs 3:25–26 offers a powerful reminder: we don’t have to be afraid.
When sudden terror strikes or when we witness its downfall, it’s natural to feel anxious or worried. But as followers of God, we are called to a different response. We are called to trust.
This passage reassures us that our confidence doesn’t come from our own strength or abilities, nor does it come from the circumstances around us. Instead, our confidence is rooted in the Lord Himself. He is our refuge, our strength, and our protector.
When we place our trust in God, He promises to keep our feet from being caught. He guides our steps and protects us from stumbling into harm’s way. This doesn’t mean that we won’t face difficulties or challenges, but it does mean that we can face them with courage and assurance, knowing that God is with us every step of the way. So today, when you encounter uncertainty or fear, remember Proverbs 3:25–26. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, and acknowledge Him in all your ways. He is faithful, and He will surely keep you safe.
