Psalm 37:7
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
The Bible commands us to operate from a place of rest, time and again, to remind us that we are not solely responsible for bearing fruit by our strength. While we take refuge in our Lord Jesus and wait on Him, blessings and fruitfulness spring forth from our lives. It is important to trust in the Lord’s timing, regardless of what our situations look like.
In our walk with Christ, the process might seem slow-moving or even dormant. But God’s Word says that no promise shall go unfulfilled and everything shall come to pass in its due season. In our season of waiting on the Lord, it is important to rely on His never-failing love and faithfulness. Due to the fallen nature of the world we live in, people using selfish means to gain abundance in an ungodly manner may discourage faithful followers of the Lord. But the Bible straightforwardly commands us to not fret because of the person who brings forth calamity and tramples over others to gain success for himself.
God honours every desire we have and fulfils each promise He makes to us without fail. Over time, even if we forget what God once spoke to us, He never lets any of His promises go in vain. As children of the Most High God, we are to remember and have faith that in God’s timing, everything will perfectly fall in place.
