Numbers 23:19 NKJV
God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
This verse stands as a profound reminder of God’s unmatched and unchanging nature. In a world where people break promises, circumstances shift, and plans fail, God remains steadfast. He is completely reliable, and His words and purposes are unshakeable.
Unlike humans, who are limited in knowledge and often influenced by change, God is eternal and sovereign, holding all knowledge and power. He never encounters new information or unforeseen circumstances that could alter His plans. Whatever He promises, He fulfills without fail. This truth forms the foundation for our trust and hope in Him, especially in times of uncertainty or challenge.
Here are three powerful aspects of God’s nature revealed in this verse that invite us to rest in His perfect faithfulness.
God is Unchanging – His character, purposes, and promises remain constant and eternal. He is not swayed by time or circumstances.
God is Unwavering – His intentions are steadfast, His promises unfailing, and His truth and actions consistent.
God is Faithful – His mercy and faithfulness endure daily, assuring that His Word and character remain steadfast.
As we reflect on God’s unchanging, unwavering, and faithful nature, we are reminded that His promises are sure and His plans are perfect. We can rest in the truth that He is always working for the good of those who love Him.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unchanging character and the certainty of Your promises. In a world of uncertainty, You remain our firm foundation. Help us to trust You deeply and to rest in the truth that You are always working for our good. Amen.
