You Will Never Walk Alone

Joshua 1:9 NKJV

“Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We can only imagine how Joshua felt when he took up the leadership mantle from Moses. He had the enormous responsibility of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land – which included battling enemy nations and crossing the River Jordan. Joshua might have been apprehensive about the journey, but God gave him the assurance that He would be with him throughout.

As children of God, we have the same promise – God is with us as we journey through life. We do not have to take another step alone. God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). He has given us the Holy Spirit to be our constant guide and helper. No matter what lies ahead, we know that God is with us every step of the way.

Are you anxious about your future? Take God’s words to Joshua as your own. You can be strong and courageous because God is by your side. You don’t have to be afraid because God knows what’s ahead, and He is more than able to help you through it.

Prayer: Lord, I’m so grateful that You are with me – I don’t have to navigate life on my own. When worry rears its ugly head, help me remember that You are faithful to keep Your promises to me. I leave my worries at Your feet and trust You to guide me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
