Proverbs 10:22
“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.”
We often use the words ‘blessing’ and ‘blessed’ in our everyday conversations. These terms hold profound emotional and cultural significance. They reflect our sincere desire for someone’s happiness and well-being. But have you ever wondered who turns those heartfelt wishes into reality? Blessings aren’t earned solely through our virtues or good deeds; they are gifts of divine grace.
The Lord is the source of all blessings. He is the generous giver of every good thing. The Holy Bible is filled with examples of God bestowing blessings upon those who seemed least deserving, which is a testament to His boundless goodness. So, does this mean that we can take His blessings for granted? Absolutely not! On the contrary, we should honor them with gratitude and humility.
What truly are God’s blessings? And how do they differ from the well-meaning wishes we receive from the world? Worldly wishes are human in nature. They flow out of the kind intentions of one’s heart. They may bring temporary joy and peace. God’s blessings, on the other hand, are divine in origin. They carry power, purpose, and promise. In fact, His blessings are devoid of any sadness and suffering. They bring joy that surpasses all human understanding and have the ability to change any situation.
God’s blessing cannot be earned through perfection. It is a gift that He generously pours upon us, even though we may be undeserving. Let His blessings be a reminder to us all that behind every good thing is a loving Father who meets our every need and fulfils His every promise.
