Strength in Weakness

2 Corinthians 12:9

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Let us begin today’s devotion with the story of the cracked pot. A water bearer carried two pots every day—one perfect, one cracked. The perfect pot felt proud of itself, while the cracked pot felt ashamed because water leaked out along the way. One day, it spoke to the water bearer and apologized, saying it was useless. The water bearer smiled and showed the pot something amazing: the water it spilled had watered flowers along the path. Its flaw, once considered shameful, had created beauty.

This story reflects our own lives. Like the cracked pot, we often see our weaknesses as problems that make us less capable or unworthy. At the same time, we may boast in our strengths, forgetting how much God can do through our weaknesses. Apostle Paul understood this well. He chose to embrace his weaknesses so that Christ’s power could work through him.

God’s grace does not rely on us being perfect. His strength is strongest where we admit our limits, failures, and fragility. When we recognize our weakness, we give God space to act powerfully, showing His work through us.

When you feel weak, flawed, or incapable, remember the cracked pot. Your weaknesses are not obstacles—they are ways for God’s perfect strength to flow. What seems like a limitation in your life can grow into unexpected beauty, blessing others in ways you cannot imagine. Celebrate what God can do through your weakness, and let His grace turn imperfection into His glory.

This story came to me at a time when I often felt like giving up and choosing an easier path. It reminded me that what we see as weakness or failure can still be used by God for something beautiful. Like the cracked pot, our imperfections are not wasted. This was very encouraging to read—thank you for sharing.
