Psalm 148:13
When life gets busy, it’s so easy for our world to become as small as whatever problem we are facing at that moment. A difficult day, an unanswered prayer, a financial worry, a relationship struggle etc. And suddenly, that one thing can feel like everything.
Psalm 148:13 gently pulls us back into the bigger picture: “Let them praise the name of the Lord, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven.” In a world filled with competing priorities, endless distractions, achievements, titles, and people constantly trying to make a name for themselves, there is only one name that truly stands above everything else…the name of the Lord.
Everything we accomplish here is temporary. Positions change. Recognition fades. Things we once thought were so important eventually become distant memories. But God remains. His name remains. His glory remains. And His glory is not limited to what we can see around us. It is above the earth and heaven. The mountains, the oceans, the vastness of the sky, and the countless stars are all reminders of the creator whose greatness is far beyond what our minds can fully comprehend.
Sometimes, we simply need to stop looking at what is happening around us and look up. Because worship has a way of putting things back into perspective.
Our problems may still be there after we pray. The circumstances may not change immediately. But something inside us changes when we remember who God is. What felt overwhelming begins to find its proper place. What seemed bigger than everything else suddenly looks smaller in the presence of a God who is greater than it all. So today, let’s lift our eyes beyond our circumstances and remember the one who holds everything in His hands.
