Psalm 23:6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
God is our shepherd. If we choose Him to lead us, there are two things that will follow us for the rest of our days. They are goodness and mercy. Another thing that we get as an added advantage by making God as our shepherd is we get to dwell in God’s house forever.
God’s goodness is one that supplies all our needs and His mercy forgives us and accepts us. We will have goodness and mercy of God pursuing us wherever we go. They will give us a chase and there is no way we can escape them. We will be pursued by His goodness. Goodness is one of the attribute of God. He is a good God all the time. His mercies endure forever. God never runs out of goodness and mercy. He has always promised good to us. Goodness of God also includes salvation, forgiveness, grace, redemption, acceptance, etc. These things will keep pursuing us or chasing us as long as we remain in His plan and His fold. We can live in the house of the Lord forever. Remember that it is always children who get a chance to live in the house of their parents and not a servant. We are heirs to the kingdom of God and we better watch out the kind of lifestyle that we have adopted here on earth.
Let God’s mercy and goodness continually find us wherever we go. Let Him be the shepherd of our lives.
