Anchored in His Word

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.

Is anything in this world truly permanent? Can we find anything that lasts forever? The honest answer is no. Everything around us will change and eventually come to an end. Seasons shift, people move on, titles fade, wealth disappears, relationships evolve. Nothing stays the same. What feels certain today may not even exist tomorrow.

And it is in this ever-changing world that our hearts often feel unsettled. In moments like these, uncertainties and fears may keep us awake at night. But today’s verse reminds us where to turn our focus: toward God’s presence.

Instead of being consumed by what we cannot control, we can spend time with the Lord and earnestly seek His promises. Rather than figuring things out on our own, let us learn to surrender everything – our worries, plans, and future – to Him. We can seek His Word for our lives and beyond. Let us anchor ourselves in God’s Word even when all we see in the world is wars, famine, or calamities. When wars rage, governments change, or amidst any turbulence, our only constant is God and His Word.

So let us place our trust in the Lord; His Word secures our place in Him and leads us safely to His purpose. Let nothing move us from the anchor of God’s truth. Our hope should remain firm, not in what we see, but in who He is. To Him alone, may our spirits yield!
