Bethel AG Church
Our Journey of Faith Since 1997
From zero members on the very first Sunday to the largest English-language congregation in the country. This is not just our story, but His-Story.
1997
Zero on Sunday One — Basement Days
On March 9th 1997, Pastor Johnson followed the Lord’s voice, resisting every opposition, and began in a basement in Ganganagar. Zero members on the first Sunday, three on the third, seven on the fifth.
Palace Grounds
As more people began to come, the church rented a place at Palace Grounds for a year. Through that season, the congregation kept growing.
Five Services
When Palace Grounds was no longer available to rent, the church returned to Ganga Nagar. It had grown so much that it now needed five full services.
The Shared Hebbal Tent
On January 16th 2005, the undeniable favour of God moved the growing church from a small Community Hall to the Hebbal Tent, shared by the Malayalam and English churches.
A Roof of Our Own
In August 2006, services moved from the Tent into a structure of our own: the International Worship Centre.
Room to Grow
Kids Church facility, infant care, the church office and more were added — the house of God taking shape, room by room.
The Balcony
On August 4th, the balcony was constructed to meet the expanding needs of a congregation that would not stop growing.
The Evening Service
In 2013, the evening service became a constant, giving even more people a place to worship each week.
The Overflow
As the congregation kept expanding, an overflow structure was built to make more room, so that everyone who came could worship together.
The Temple of God Land
By God’s grace and might, three acres of land were bought for the Temple of God. Our first special events there, Christmas and New Year, welcomed crowds no building of ours could hold.
Worship on Wheels
During the second wave of COVID-19, when we could not gather in one place, the church launched Worship on Wheels. A one-of-a-kind idea, it became the talk of the country.
Back to Palace Grounds
With growth beyond what our own space could contain, Christmas, New Year and Easter were held at Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds. Twenty years after our first season there, we were back.
His Church Today
Today, the International Worship Centre is home to a growing family that gathers every week to worship, pray and serve. What began with zero on Sunday One is still growing, one yes to the Lord Jesus at a time.
The Temple of God
An extensive multi-level worship centre — expected to be the largest of its kind in Bangalore — is rising by God’s grace and the giving of His people.

Every milestone above began with someone saying yes. Come worship with us this Sunday.
