1 John 5:14 NKJV

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

In the busy rhythms of life, it’s easy to feel disconnected or unheard. Yet, this verse offers a profound reminder of a foundational truth: we have a confident relationship with God. This assurance is based on God’s loving and caring nature rather than our own strength. When we approach Him in prayer, we are confident that He will listen. This assurance changes how we pray, encouraging us to speak directly and honestly with God. We are not speaking into a void; God is interested in our worries.

Prayer is not about getting what we want; it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s perfect will. Today’s scripture teaches us that our prayers are most effective when they align with God’s will. Rather than focusing solely on our desires, our prayers should prioritize seeking God’s desires above everything else. God, in His infinite wisdom, understands what is best for us, and His plans are far greater than anything we could imagine for ourselves. When we pray in accordance with His will, we invite His perfect, purposeful answers into our lives.

This understanding of prayer transforms anxious requests into faith-filled conversations with God. It shifts our focus from worrying about outcomes to trusting that God hears our prayers and will respond in His perfect timing and way, according to His wisdom and will.

Heavenly Father, we come with grateful hearts, knowing You hear our every word. Help us align our prayers with Your will and trust that Your plans are greater than ours. Guide us to pray with faith, trusting You will answer in Your perfect timing and purpose. Amen.
