“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.” Proverbs 3:13-14
We live in a materialistic world, where everything in life is about money. Respect is no longer earned but bought by the wealthier and influential members of the society. But what most of us do not realise is that wealth and positions are temporary and will not sustain us for long. The global pandemic, COVID-19 brought many rich people to their knees, as all the money in the world could not save them and their dear ones from this deadly virus. This establishes one truth, that money does not have the power to save, only Jesus does!
The above verse talks about the value of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. It is no secret that the Lord of the Holy Bible, is the God of wisdom and every word that He speaks, brings forth knowledge and understanding.
Wisdom is a reward from the Lord. The Bible says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” This verse is so true. King Solomon was blessed with wisdom because he prayed for it. To this date, people talk about his extraordinary gift. He was also a rich king, but it is His wisdom that made him popular.
Wisdom and understanding are precious gifts from the Lord. It has the power to save and deliver us from difficult situations. It is everlasting, while wealth is short-lived, as it can be spent, lost or stolen. So as children of God, we are called to pursue wisdom, knowledge and understanding, as opposed to gold or silver.
Prayer : Dear God, I thank You for the gifts of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. It has the power to give me victory in every situation. And I know that all good things come from You alone. I love You Lord, In Jesus name, Amen!
