Approach the throne

Hebrews‬ ‭4:16 – “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

The dictionary defines confidence as, ‘the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something; the state of feeling certain about the truth of something.’ With respect to our spiritual lives, our confidence is an indicator of how much we trust God. If we truly believe that God loves us and cares for us, we will not have any qualms about approaching Him for the big (and little) things that threaten to steal our peace.

Can you imagine the amount of security screening and protocols one would have to endure to meet the president or prime minister? And yet, the writer of Hebrews encourages us to boldly approach the throne of God – our King of kings, the Ruler of the world! How can we have that kind of access to God? It comes when we fully grasp our identity as a children of God.

Through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, He reconciled each of us with the Father. We are now His precious sons and daughters who can run up to His throne any time of day or night. Are you facing a need in your life? Confidently approach your Father in heaven. He will grant you mercy and grace to help you through your current struggle.
