Our country, on this day, adopted its constitution- a document that guarantees its citizens their rights and freedom, along with the duties that we are obligated to perform towards our country. As children of the highest GOD, we have a specific responsibility toward our homeland, i.e. praying for the salvation of its people and the prosperity of our great nation.
When GOD is in control of a territory, there is peace within those walls, and great wealth will abide in it. We are the chosen inheritance of GOD planted in India, and the Bible bestows upon us the duty to pray for our land. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, the Bible tells us “ I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” NIV
Again in the book of Jeremiah, the prophet tells us, Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Jeremiah 29:7.NIV
GOD emphasizes praying for our country because a nation that GOD blesses is wealthy, powerful, and highly favored. GOD has planted us in India as HIS inheritance, so we are to pray and claim the blessings and promises of GOD on our blessed nation.
