Blessed are those who believe

Luke 1:45 – “And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

You may have heard about the beatitudes mentioned in Matthew 5:3-11. Jesus proclaimed a blessing over the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers and the persecuted. Well, here is another similar blessing that Elizabeth proclaimed over Mary, “Blessed is she who has believed that God will fulfill His promise towards her.”

You, dear one, are blessed. If you believe in Jesus, you are blessed, whether you realize it or not. At times our lives do not depict that blessedness, though. We think God has forgotten us because He has more pressing matters to attend in the world. That is so far away from the truth. God has said that even if a mother forgets the baby at her breast, He will not forget His people. He remembers you, He knows you by name. He has proclaimed His blessings over your life.

If God has given you a promise, it is your responsibility and privilege to hold on to it. God does not work according to our time-frame but His. He knows when to fulfill His promises. As long as you believe in Him, and trust Him to fulfill what He’s said, you will be blessed. Do not give up this blessing from the Lord.
