For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.(KJV) Luke 11:10
The above verse is followed by another verse in the Holy Bible that says, If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Luke 11:11
We need to gain a deeper insight into the two verses of the Holy Bible to understand the context of the above verse. Jesus Christ whilst speaking to His disciples is encouraging them to be fervent in prayer and expect a favourable respond to all their requests made to the Lord Almighty.
It is a common knowledge to all the Children of God that our God is divine and is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. This is the greatness of the God we serve. We have all been given access to receive His choicest blessings through prayers. Prayer is the channel through which we communicate with our dear Father in heaven.
Let us therefore be mindful, aware and wise while we make our desires known to Him through our prayers by submitting wholly to His will. Let us make a joyful commitment to glorify God in all that we pray for as we rely peacefully in the blessed assurance given to all of us in prayer.
