Romans 10:17 – “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Faith is a huge component of our lives. We know (at least, theoretically) that our faith has the power to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). We understand that without faith it’s impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). And yet, do we really live in the fullness of what God can do in us and through us by our faith?
It’s not that we don’t have faith… We surely do. But we must be willing to grow in our spiritual lives, and allow faith in God to direct our thoughts and behaviour. Today’s verse clarifies that faith comes when we hear the Word of God. Do you long to grow in faith? Fill yourself up with God’s Word.
Take time to meditate on Scripture every day. Listen to what God is teaching you, and apply it in your life. Write down verses that minister to you. When doubt and fear cloud your mind, speak out God’s Word boldly and bolster your faith. And as you grow in faith, be sure to share God’s Word with someone else who may need to hear it. The Bible can transform our lives if we allow it to. Get into God’s Word and take your faith to the next level!
