Bulletproof

Psalm 40:11 NKJV

Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord; let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.

A little boy disobeyed his parents and ended up grounded. However, shortly afterwards, he had a heartfelt talk with his parents and felt genuinely remorseful. He received love and acceptance in return from his parents. Later on in life, though he made mistakes, he knew he could run to his parents to make his confessions. He gained confidence in his parents and made things right with their love and support.

David’s confidence in God evolved gradually, just as the boy found strength in his parents over time. Amid many trials, tribulations, and waiting, David bonded deeply with his Savior. His relationship with His Lord was bulletproof, and nothing could separate him from the love of God. He waited many years for God’s promise of him becoming king of Israel to come true, yet he never gave up on God. Despite failing God many times, King David’s repentant heart always sought after God’s own heart.

Today, are you surrounded by adversaries or iniquities? Do you feel you have strayed far from God with your life choices? Instead of going further in the wrong direction, consider turning around into the arms of your Savior. Embrace the tender mercies and lovingkindness of your Father. Like the little boy, run to the Father because His arms are open wide to receive you! You are bulletproof when you live in the truth!
