1 John 3:1 NLT
See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him.
When we truly know our identity in Christ, it builds a quiet, unshakable confidence within us. The confidence Apostle John speaks of isn’t about who we are in the eyes of others—it’s about who lives inside of us.
A follower of Christ was once asked, “How is it that you’re so happy?” Without a pause, she replied, “When I go crying and call out to Jesus, in that very moment, I’m filled with peace and joy. And the next thing I know—I don’t even remember if I was crying at all! I’m already back to my busy day, doing things that bring me joy, because His presence shifts everything.”
As children of God, we can run to our Father at any time, day or night. We know He hears us when we call to Him. We can live confidently when we are secure in our identity in Christ. So today, let’s ask ourselves: Are we seeking validation from the world around us, or are we looking within and recognizing the One who abides in us?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know You are in me, and I know You love me deeply. Please increase my faith, Lord, so I don’t go searching for love in the world. Help me rest in the truth that Your love is enough—more than enough. Amen.
