Choices, Actions, Gift of Grace

Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Isaiah 3:10

In an Assam silk saree-making factory, dedicated workers meticulously cared for caterpillars, nurturing them into silk threads for exquisite sarees. Operating seamlessly for 40–50 years, the company faced a sudden setback when a natural earthquake disrupted the caterpillar population, impacting profits.
Also there were intruders, not just in nature but in the form of malicious people who harmed both caterpillars and the workers’ livelihood.

One fine day the company’s owner got to know about this malicious act. He took action and dismissed the wrongdoers. With the removal of these unrighteous elements, the diligent workers flourished.

Good choices need better actions since actions speak louder than words. If we put the effort in, it has to be wrapped in the grace of God, asking for His will. In the context of the verse, prophet Isaiah delivers a sobering message about impending judgment facing Judah and Jerusalem. This is due to the widespread sinful conduct and rebellious words of the Lord’s people. The open proclamation of their transgressions had invited calamity upon them.

Consistently aligning with God’s principles increases the likelihood of favorable earthly circumstances, reflecting the biblical wisdom of living wisely. He underscores the enduring impact of righteous living, drawing from God’s covenant that promises blessings for obedience and consequences for disobedience. This principle holds for us today, as God encourages repentance from worldly ways and making Spirit-led choices for future rewards.

This is visible in the fruits that God nurtures and helps us grow. Also, we enjoy the blessings without sorrow as the fruit of our labor. Truly, God is mindful of us, especially as we start a new chapter and live in the season of rising and building.
