Psalm 33:11
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.
In our lives, we constantly face choices – our plans, the world’s plans, or God’s plan. We often float like dead fish swept by the current or swim where we wish, only to end up as food for predators. Our plans are limited and those of the world are temporary, but God’s plans are eternal.
Choose God’s plan today. It requires an act of daily surrender. It’s not assuming that your plan is better and conforming God’s plan to fit yours. To transform our lives for the better, we have to seek God actively. Simon would never have transformed into Peter (rock) if he had followed his own plan. He had a limited dream of being a fisherman, providing for his family, but God wanted him to be a fisher of men. He submitted to God’s plan and changed the world for the better.
Like Peter, our lives will be upended when we conform to God’s plan. We may deny Him many times, but God is always faithful to draw close. We may feel like a bruised reed or a smoldering wick, but with God’s strength, our lives will never be the same.
The world’s plan may pressure us to run after fame, riches, and pleasures for satisfaction. Chasing after the world can only give us a false sense of security. But like the prodigal son, we can always return to the Father’s house. God’s ways are always better. Today, embrace the security of God’s plan for you and the generations to come.
