Proverbs 4:7-8

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; she will bring you honor, when you embrace her.

We live in a time when information is always within reach. Gone are the days when people waited for the newspaper or depended solely on schools to learn. Today, anyone with a phone can access endless knowledge in seconds.

Yet with all this knowledge available, few seem to walk in true peace or lasting success. That’s because knowledge alone isn’t enough; what we truly need is wisdom.

Wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge in a way that honors God and leads to right choices. The Bible says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). It’s not about how much we know, but how we live in light of who God is.

Wisdom teaches us to walk in truth when the world chooses compromise. It reminds us that while we may work hard, it is God who lifts us up. “It is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another” (Psalm 75:7). True promotion comes from the Lord.

Even as many around the world celebrate Thanksgiving today, let’s be grateful not just for material blessings but for the wisdom that God freely offers to those who seek Him. A thankful heart and a wise spirit will lead to a life full of purpose and favor.

So in all your getting, get wisdom. It will lead you to a life marked by God’s favor, honor, and grace.
