Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Psalm 33:1 (KJV)
Everybody enjoys being appreciated once in a while. When we do a good deed or help someone in trouble we expect a “Thank You” in return. We like to be acknowledged for all the good we do. It is a wonderful feeling to be of help to someone in need and when we receive help , we feel special.
In the above verse the psalmist is recommending Rejoice and Praise. Rejoicing and praising God is not an option, it is a commandment given very lovingly by our father to His beloved children. God is glorious on His own and does not depend on us for His glory. However, we as children of God depend on God for everything. We cannot retract the fact that God lavishly pours out His grace upon us, even though we are sinners and filled with flaws. We are precious and valuable in the eyes of our Lord. We hold a special place in His heart. This is more than enough reason for us to rejoice and be grateful for all the small and big blessings in our lives. What a marvelous God we serve. We have so many things to be thankful for. It is important for us to realize that God is the provider and our keeper in this journey called life. Shout out your praises to Him for He alone deserves all our praise.
