Psalm 91:7– “A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.”
In recent years, special effects became an integral part of a motion picture where some of the scenes happen so fast that we cannot capture with our eye everything that is happening; or 3-D glasses are given to us to provoke a different feeling through our vision; and further, in some cases, besides the loud surround sound, smells, noises and vibrations are part of the experience.
Can you picture what happened in Egypt as God was using Moses to lead his people out of captivity? From the plagues, to the parting of the Red Sea, crossing the Red Sea, and after that, seeing and hearing pharaoh’s army being swallowed by the powerful ocean waters?
God is our deliverer, we are marked and sealed with His Spirit. The seal may not be ‘visible’ to the human eye, but it is surely ‘seen’ in the spiritual realm. We are delivered from every plague, from every harm, and absolutely nothing can touch or harm us.
A thousand can fall at our side, and ten thousand at our right hand, both are near us, but that is as ‘far’ as it gets: near us. We see, we hear, we smell, but it does not ‘touch’ us, because the Hand of the Lord protects us from all evil, all harm. He is our shield, our defender, our protector.
Let us remember and declare who we are in Him, knowing that apart from Him we are and cannot do anything. It is His battle. We simply stand still and in awe, and we ‘see’ the devastation left behind by Him who fights on our behalf. Amen!
