“Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.” Proverbs 10:17
Discipline enhances the quality of life and improves our living standard. This is exactly the reason why parents and schools emphasize on disciplining children from a young age. When the world disciplines us, it is only to ensure obedience and order, and not because they take a personal interest in us.
However, God’s discipline is different from that of the world. God’s discipline is evidence of His love for us. God corrects and disciplines those He loves. Having said that, we know that God loves everyone. So, does this mean that God disciplines everyone? The answer is no. God does not interfere unless He is invited. When we call upon Him and seek His guidance, He takes the lead. His discipline and correction is a blessing. It is a sign of divine presence and protection.
We are therefore urged to welcome His correction and embrace His discipline, because ignoring and disobeying God’s instructions will lead to disorder and destruction.
Following God’s instructions and walking in His ways guarantees peace and victory in every area of life.
Prayer : Dear God, I thank You for all the times that You have corrected me. I now know that You do this because You love me and want the best for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
