Don’t Go To War Undressed

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”. Ephesians 6:11

It is uncommon to see a soldier going to war without proper attire: uniform, equipment and training are required and can determine his survival. And here we are talking about the wars and battles between men.

What about the unseen battles that we face daily against the spiritual forces of evil? Precisely, the devil? We know that he is the father of all lies, that he uses unfair schemes through violent and destructive temptations to destroy us.

How can we go through this daily battle unprepared and undressed for this fight?

We are instructed to put on the full armor of God, so that we may be able to stand against the wiles (deceits, tricks, strategies, tactics, schemes) of the devil.

We have received extremely needful advice in order to be able to stand against him:

  • We must remain strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
  • We must put on the full armor of God.
  • We are not struggling against flesh and blood
  • We are struggling against the spiritual forces of evil
  • We must stand our ground.

Let’s not wait around then. Let’s put on the Helmet of Salvation, the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Sandals of the Gospel of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Sword of the Spirit. And dressed like this, we Stand firm.

And remember:

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you.” (James 4:7)

Amen!

(Ephesians 6:10-17; James 4:7)
