Ephesians 1:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”
Social media is rife with hashtags, and one of the more common ones is #Blessed. We see it when a friend posts about their new car or promotion. It’s in pictures of happy families dressed in color-coordinated outfits. While these are tangible blessings that, no doubt, make people feel blessed, the Lord blesses us far beyond what the eye can see.
In today’s verse, we see Apostle Paul telling the Ephesians that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. This includes abstract blessings that can’t exactly be counted or measured like, when:
- You don’t know what to say in a tricky situation, but God puts the right words in your mouth.
- You’re feeling anxious and overwhelmed, but experience unexpected peace for a moment.
- You don’t feel qualified in your workplace, but God’s grace has helped you complete one more month.
- You’re exhausted but have just enough strength to get through the day.
- You feel far from God, but open your Bible and read a verse that sparks hope in your heart.
Yes, that’s #Blessed too!
We may not always see the quiet work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, but we have the confidence that God is always blessing us. As a child of the Most High God, you have access to every spiritual blessing through the Lord Jesus Christ. Rest in that assurance today.
